NOT ALL activated carbons are born equal!! Our activated carbon was personally tested by Hadar Jacobson in her Berkeley Studio and it worked perfectly! Use this activated carbon to embed Hadars Clay and other brands of base metal clay pieces for firing. The Coconut shell–based carbon available in Australia usually produces a richly colourful patina. Our Coconut shell–based carbon can be primed before use but it is NOT necessary. Please Note: Use a stainless steel firing pan with lid (available separately) to hold both activated carbon and the pieces to be fired.
